Yambah to Alawoona
This trip was back in
1991, along the broad gauge line between Yambah (east of Renmark,
near the Victorian Border) and Alawoona where there was a junction
with the line that came in from Loxton.
I did not have a broad gauge car back then, but my host very kindly allowed me to operate his M19-Z63s and Tamper TMC2 at various times.
I ran the line on the understanding that my host had permission from the contractor who had just received the deal to pull up this railway.
Sad, really, for this line was in first class condition.
